What Is The AI-Powered Bank?
The AI-Powered Bank© is the bank of the future where all people in the organisation and the business ecosystem as a whole are enabled or enhanced in an integrated way by AI, by artificial intelligence.
Focus is on the people working and living in a safe, healthy and aligned organisational design as part of the AI-powered business model that can be described with the AI-Model Canvas©: including the right culture, the right people & skills, the right core goals & core values, the right structure, the right systems, the right business processes and the right digital strategy.
These elements called the 7 levers of change in the new aligned AI-powered organisational design at the heart of the innovative AI-Model Canvas©.
Continuous alignment and aligning of these 7 elements is key to become and stay a successful AI-Powered Bank. Why? Because as was concluded in the article ‘Building The AI-Powered Organization. Technology isn’t the biggest challenge. Culture is” by the three authors of McKinsey in 2019 (see here)…. it’s often not the technology, it’s the culture that is one of the internal factors blocking succesful implementation of AI in the organisation. And that is often the case, especially in large traditional planning & control companies with high organisational costs.

The good news is that we know how a culture of a large bank can be changed in the context of an AI-powered digital tranformation program or change management program: by using all 7 levers of change in a consistent way. For instance by recruiting and selecting different leaders and managers (‘People & Skills), by implementing a different organisational structure (‘Structure’) and by implementing different rewards systems and other performance management systems to influence and change the behaviour of people inside the new AI-powered bank.
